Chief John C. Higgins has served as the Village Police Chief since 1997. He joined the Lisbon Police Department in 1978. Chief John Higgins is active throughout the Columbiana County area in many different organizations.

Lisbon Police Department operates 24 hours, 7 days a week to serve and protect our Village residents and their businesses. The Department consists of Chief of Police, one Lieutenant, one Sergeant, 3 full time Officers, eleven part time Officers and three Auxiliary Officers.

Communications: Four full time Dispatchers, Three part time dispatchers. The Dispatchers also dispatch for Lisbon, Center, Elkrun, and Salineville Volunteer Fire Departments 24 hours/7 days a week. Dispatchers dispatch for Salineville Police Department, the Columbiana County Corners Office and answers 911 calls.

The Department participates with the Dare program and have two officers who teach the DARE program in Lisbon and Leetonia Schools. Lisbon also has an officer on the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.
